abstract	Dieses Dokument stellt das „Giving-up“-Konzept von Schmale und Engel (1967) sowie die Differenzierung von Hilflosigkeit und Hoffnungslosigkeit (Sweeney, Tinling & Schmale, 1970) dar und überträgt es auf den Fall Yenifer/Yenny (strukturelle Dissoziation Typ 2). Die SMS „Es muy tarde para esa respuesta“ wird als Ausdruck systemischer Hoffnungslosigkeit analysiert, die nicht primär depressiv, sondern ein Programm des sekundären Bewusstseins (Yenny) ist. Auch die Rolle des Begleiters (Tobias) und die Funktion der Leuchtturm-Strategie als Gegenentwurf zu Hilflosigkeit und Hoffnungslosigkeit werden erörtert. Die Ausführungen gelten für beide Modelle (Typ 2α und Typ 2β), sofern nicht anders vermerkt. Dies ist ein nicht begutachtetes Manuskript und Teil von Band 01 des WA-Korpus zur strukturellen Dissoziation Typ 2.
abstract_en	This document presents the „giving-up“ concept of Schmale and Engel (1967) and the differentiation of helplessness and hopelessness (Sweeney, Tinling & Schmale, 1970) and applies them to the case of Yenifer/Yenny (structural dissociation type 2). The SMS „Es muy tarde para esa respuesta“ is analyzed as an expression of systemic hopelessness, which is not primarily depressive but a program of the secondary consciousness (Yenny). The role of the companion (Tobias) and the function of the lighthouse strategy as a counter‑design to helplessness and hopelessness are also discussed. The findings apply to both models (type 2α and type 2β) unless stated otherwise. This is an unpublished manuscript and part of Volume 01 of the WA Handbook on Structural Dissociation Type 2.

## 1. Historische Grundlagen: Das "Giving-up"-Konzept von Schmale und Engel

In den späten 1960er Jahren entwickelten Arthur H. Schmale und George L. Engel das klinische Profil des "Giving-up-Komplexes" (Aufgeben-Komplex). Durch sorgfältige Patienteninterviews identifizierten sie einen psychischen Zustand, der durch unangenehme, belastende Gefühle gekennzeichnet ist, die Patienten mit Sätzen wie *"Es ist zu viel"*, *"Es hat keinen Zweck"* oder *"Ich kann nicht mehr"* ausdrücken.

Diese Gefühle wurden von den Betroffenen entweder auf Versagen oder Mängel in ihrer Umgebung (Hilflosigkeit) oder auf eigenes persönliches Versagen (Hoffnungslosigkeit) zurückgeführt. Schmale und Engel beobachteten, dass dieser "Giving-up"-Zustand häufig dem Ausbruch oder der Verschlimmerung somatischer wie psychischer Erkrankungen vorausgeht.

abstract	Band 03 des WA-Korpus bündelt die therapeutischen Grundlagen und Strategien zur Behandlung der strukturellen Dissoziation Typ 2 (invertierte Hierarchie). Im Zentrum steht die forderungsfreie Leuchtturm-Strategie als die einzige therapeutisch vertretbare Haltung in den frühen Phasen der Behandlung, wenn das sekundäre Bewusstsein (Yenny) die alleinige Exekutive innehat. Der Band versammelt Dokumente zur phasenorientierten Traumatherapie bei struktureller Dissoziation, zur metakognitiven Arbeit mit inneren Anteilen, zu Begleitverfahren wie Yoga und Kunsttherapie sowie zu kontraindizierten Verfahren. Die hier entwickelten Ansätze bilden das therapeutische Fundament für die in Band 10 (Kognitiver Verfall und iatrogene Schädigung) beschriebenen kognitiven Rehabilitationsmaßnahmen.
abstract_en	Volume 03 of the WA Handbook brings together the therapeutic foundations and strategies for the treatment of structural dissociation type 2 (inverted hierarchy). At its center is the demand-free lighthouse strategy as the only therapeutically viable approach in the early phases of treatment, when secondary consciousness (Yenny) holds sole executive control. The volume collects documents on phase-oriented trauma therapy for structural dissociation, metacognitive work with inner parts, adjunctive approaches such as yoga and art therapy, as well as contraindicated procedures. The approaches developed here form the therapeutic foundation for the cognitive rehabilitation measures described in Volume 10 (Cognitive Decline and Iatrogenic Harm).
